How to propose your girlfriend

February 19th, 2015

Finding the life partner is really a difficult process and when you finally found the lady for which you want to spend rest of your life then without giving a second chance just propose her, the world is going very fast and so do all peoples that’s why spending more time thinking can be a bad idea. You should push your nervousness aside and remember that, once you have a game plan and know what to expect, you’ll be able to propose to your girlfriend without blundering the whole thing. You don’t have to do anything too over-the-top or crazy, unless you think that’s what she wants. The best way to go about is just listen what your heart is saying and behave in a manner that would be remembered for the rest of your life. Girls need romance and a great sense of care to get assured that I am choosing the right person for life.

Never copy movies:

It’s a fake idea to copy from the movies; you can only copy when you are very much sure that you are able to produce the situation much better than that. And in the real world it’s not possible. Movies are commercial affair, the producer spend thousands of dollar to make those romantic proposing scenes to make movie the block buster. No one forget Tom cruise proposing her girl friend at the bottom of Eiffel tower and what about Seal’s proposal to Heidi Klum in the Canadian mountains, in an igloo? All it is romantic and very cute but it’s not possible for a common man to do that until he is living in Paris or on cold snowy mountains.

Just be open and show care:

The care and love has the power to melt hearts. Show you sincere heart feelings openly. There is no good in hiding your feelings and pretending to be non-romantic. It’s natural when you love someone you adore her and want to be with her. Tell her how much you love her, what you can do for her and how you think your life would be without her. But keep in mind never exaggerate because these fake promises before marriage gives you a very tough time after marriage.

Create some romantic environment:

Do something special to surprise her. Work out with candle and dime light. Make any place you like your proposing spot. Don’t worry about budget. It’s not necessary to go on a hill, book a full dining hall of a restaurant or decor a sea boat for her. You can make you house. You dining area or your lounge you’re proposing spot. It’s not only the matter of spending money but it’s about showing care. Make a dime light effect, light up candles, play soft music, flowers and collect some gifts; you also include cake in the list.

Here are a few ideas that how to tell her your wish:

  • You can put the ring in her drink glass so that when she ends up she find it and then you can say her ‘ be mine forever” but be careful as a friend of mine proposed to his girlfriend by dropping the ring into her glass of red wine. She didn’t swallow it she thought it was a piece of bottle cap, so she spat it out with a splash and yelled at the manager. It took a few minutes for her flushed temper to calm down. But the proposal was memorable.

  • Just take the help from romantic flower delivery service, give them the time and date at which you were supposed to propose her. Ask her to open the gate and pretend to be busy in something. When she will receive flowers on her name with some romantic lines, as soon as she returns to you just take out the ring, hold her warmly and whisper in her ear. ‘Will you be mine’ this romantic gesture will definitely melt her heart and she can’t to stop herself and say yes.
  • Present her with flowers and place the ring in a box on the top of flowers and write a note “open it  if you love me” her curiosity will pomp her to open and thus she will fall in love with you once again.

Easy homemade Vanilla fudge recipe

February 19th, 2015

Have a sweet tooth? Well, the good news is that you do not have to rush to the nearby patisserie to get your fill of the sweetness. With easy-to-make recipes at home, you can make your own goodies and they will be filled with the goodness of hand selected products and time-tested recipes.

So, whether it is a celebratory occasion or just the sweet cravings that wake you up in the middle of the night, here are some easy recipes that we think will easily become your go-to-recipes for all things chocolate:

CREAMY VANILLA FUDGE

Ingredients:

  • Granulated sugar – 1 lb
  • Butter – 3 0z
  • Milk – 150 ml
  • Evaporated milk – 6 0z
  • Vanilla extract – few drops
  • Vegetable oil

Method:

  • Take the sugar and tip it into a heavy based pan along with the butter, milk, and evaporated milk. Heat gently and remember to stir frequently until the sugar has completely dissolved.

  • Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring, and continue to boil until the sugar thermometer reads 116°C (240°F). If you do not have a sugar thermometer, you can test the readiness of the fudge by taking a small amount of the sugar syrup and spooning it into iced water – the sugar should immediately curl into a soft ball.

  • Keep stirring the sugar fudge mix so that it does not stick and burn. Then, remove the pan from the heat and add a few drops of the vanilla extract into the mix. Beat the fudge mix with a wooden spatula or spoon until it thickens.

  • Pour the fudge mix into a shallow square tin that has been brushed with a little vegetable oil. Leave it at room temperature for about 10-15 min to set. If you are in a hurry, you can pop the tin into the fridge and cool the fudge faster.

  • Now, cut the fudge into small squares. Cool completely before eating.

  • For decoration, you can use sugar sprinkles or edible sugar pieces. Fruits like frozen strawberries and crushed honeycomb also work well and enhance the subtle vanilla flavouring of the fudge. You can use the fruits as flavouring or just sprinkle them on top while the fudge sets to add the extra crunch.

  • Once you are done, you can seal the fudge pieces in zip-seal bags for storing.

Cooking time involved: About 15 min

Total time taken: 35 min

Expert tips:

  • To add a little zing to the fudge, you can sprinkle in some salt while you are cooking. Adding a teaspoon full of sea salt to the mix when it has reached the soft-ball stage will only bring out the delicate flavours.

  • While cooling the fudge in the fridge, do not leave it there for a long time or the sugar will congeal and harden and it will become impossible to cut it into pieces.

Homemade treats are great but if it seems tedious, then online chocolates delivery – does help in moments of crisis! This easy recipe makes great treats for kids, as well as for gifts. So make it, bag it, and share it – after all a sweet tooth deserves a royal treatment doesn’t it?

Keeping cut flowers fresher longer

February 19th, 2015

Cut flowers are an instant mood brightener. Pop them in a vase and put them in any corner of the room and they will bring the room alive in a jiffy. Whether it is your Valentine’s Day roses or your daily dose of sunshine that you bring home from the local florist, we all wish those precious flowers would last just a little bit longer.  Short of encasing them in wax is there any other way of preserving them just the way they are? Well, actually there is.

Your kitchen holds many DIY solutions that can keep your flowers looking fresher for long. Here are some ideas that might help you the next time someone drops a bouquet at your door:

Soda in the water

Who would have thought that the humble bottle of soda sitting in a corner in the fridge could actually do more than be a fizzy drink on a summer day? Putting a little bit of this in the water can keep your roses and other cut flowers blooming fresh for days. If you have a clear vase though, keep away from the coloured sodas and go for the clear ones instead. Oh, and don’t forget to change the water every few days!

Aspirin tablets to the rescue

Not just headaches, aspirin can also work as a magic charm with flowers. Drop a couple of tablets in vase of water and watch as those lovely blooms just soak up all the goodness. Tried and true, this method never seems to fail and most importantly, it is an easy cure for all the head and the heartache that happens when you see a bunch of flowers die too early.

Hair spray magic

Yes, you heard us. Hair spray works amazingly well on flowers too and you thought it was only meant to keep your locks in place. Stand far away from the flowers and sprintz a little hair spray on the underside of the petals and leaves and then, rest easy. Remember to spray only a little and stand far; you do not want your flowers frozen in place unlike your wayward hair strands!

Vodka and water

Again, it might sound improbable but it is actually true. Vodka helps kill the bacteria that fester in the stagnant water in the vase, and with the bacteria gone your flowers can live a much healthier and longer life. You do have to change the water every couple of days though and keep adding a little vodka and some sugar to the water every time.

Pennies for your posies

Have a bunch of coins you have been meaning to get rid of? Well, here’s an easy solution. Just drop the pennies in the vase with the flowers. The copper in the pennies will act as an acidifier and keep the bacteria at bay. Don’t drop too many of them though – it’s a vase, not a piggy bank. Also, add a cube of sugar to maintain just the right amount of nutrient balance in the water.

So the next time you are gifted a bunch, or order for flower delivery online, you can use these handy tricks to keep those blossoms from dying fast. This way you can have all the natural decor you want, and get your money’s worth too

Easy tips for flower arrangements at home

February 19th, 2015

Flowers are the most easy home decor tool. And they don’t even cost a bomb. The only problem is that when you buy a bunch of carefully chosen blooms, you would hate to see them dry out and wither before their time. So how do you ensure that the flowers remain fresh and smiling for long? Experts say it all depends on how you put them in the vase. The little things like the temperature of the water and the duration of time spent between buying the flowers and putting them in water, matter a lot.

These following tips should help you arrange flowers like a pro though and avoid common mistakes that can ruin your flower arrangement:

1. Water, water, and some more water

Put your flowers in water as soon as you can. The longer you keep them away from their life source, the harder it will be for them to survive. So, buy your flowers at a nearby florist or as the last item on your shopping list and plop them in a vase full of tepid water as soon as you are in. Also, remember to change the water frequently so as to prevent bacteria build up.

2. Make a fresh cut

Always cut the flower stems before arranging them. Make and inclined cut so as to increase the surface area for water absorption. You can also trim leaves that fall below the water line. This helps a lot in reviving your flowers if they have been sitting for a while before being put in a vase.

3. Check the water temperature

Not too hold, nor too cold. Tepid is how the flowers like it, so ensure that the water is at the right temperature. However, if you have a bunch of tightly closed flower heads, slightly warmer water might help the buds to open fully. But use warm water with discretion.

4. Use florist’s foam

If you want to arrange your flowers as a centrepiece, then just using a vase to hold them may not be the brightest idea. Florist’s foam is a great help in such situations. Soak the foam in water for about 15 minutes before you use it so that is fully hydrated. Then, arrange your flowers on the foam piece. Keep checking to see if the foam has dried out and water every couple of days to keep your flowers for longer.

5. Choose the right flowers

When arranging flowers, start with the bigger ones and then use the smaller blossoms to fill in the gaps. Leave enough space between the stems for the blooms to open and spread. Use flowers of different sizes and shapes, as well as different heights, to give your arrangement more layers and dimension.

If you have a florist, you can learn the techniques of flower arrangement from them. If however, you want to do it the DIY way, you can order flowers from the best online flower delivery in the UK, and learn the basics on your own.
