Your hamper guide

We know that you are aware about what a hamper is and how the process works. Still sometimes, we fail to make the perfect hamper. So for that, here is your guide to making the perfect gift basket.

  • Make a list: –First and foremost, you should always make a list and note down from top to bottom about the things you need for a hamper. If you are planning to make it at home, then be precise about the list. Since you are doing all the work, it is essential to know what you need and don’t. Make few lists if you want. One, things you need, decorations you need and cards you need.
  • Set a budget: –When collecting the items, calculate and see how well it fits the budget. If the money isn’t enough then remove one item from the hamper and save some for the courier charges. By budget, we mean everything like the decorations, posting charges, papers, materials, etc. You get the point right?
  • Collect the items: –Take a space in your room and assemble all the things together. Now check the lists and mark what you have and see if you have gotten everything. If not, do not panic and rush to the store. First do the rest of the things and then go at your time. Remember the hamper making process should start a few days early.
  • Place them well: –While you were at the store, we are sure you must have picked up some gift boxes and containers. You can also make boxes by yourself. All you need is some old cardboard cartons. You need some glue, scissors and hard paper or cardboard pieces. To make the box, you need to slowly cut exact squares and place them in a cubical format. Stick them properly. If you want, you can use glitter tape too to stick it from both sides. This will look like some décor itself.You can also write messages on the boxes instead of notes and cards. This is an adorable idea.
  • A check: –Once placed in the boxes, check the item that you did not get. If there is everything in the room you need for the hamper basket then start slowly tape everything and put ribbons on it. Presentation is very important. Once you have checked the list and done the needful. It is time for the last step.
  • Final pack: –The final basket pack is dicey. If you are getting the hampers delivered in UK or any other place, make sure you wrap it double times the basic wrapping. You do not want your things to get damaged at all. After the final packing, decorate further and do not miss out on the gift card. That’s necessary too. How to make hamper baskets

You know things that a hamper basket consists of but do you know how you can make a hamper basket with paper at home? It isn’t very difficult but can be time consuming if you aren’t an arts and crafts fan. Even if you don’t want to make a basket at home, do give it a try sometime. Once you learn it well, you can be excellent at this art.

Follow these steps: –

Things you need –

  • Strong glue
  • Newspapers
  • cutter and scissors
  • a ruler to measure
  • cardboard piece
  • and a cloth piece

Procedure of making this basket:

1. You need to start with cutting long strips of newspapers. All should be of the same side. Fold them horizontally and make it into a round shape. This will give you a long pipe type tube.

2. Make several rolls. You can use glue to stick the edges at each ends of the rolls so that it doesn’t open up. Be gentle during this procedure.

3. For the base of the hamper basket, you need to cut two rectangles of the cardboard. The size depends on you.

4. Insert the tubes slowly in between the two pieces. Now slowly press the cardboard so that the tubes stick well.

5. If you want, you can use double sided tape to cover the remaining piece of cardboard which isn’t getting stuck properly with glue. Keep doing this and let the tubes dry for about an hour.

6. Now, start weaving and join two of the rolls together. This is like basic weaving but you have to be careful and you should know where to put the glue to stick them together. While you are making it, you will know which ends are coming out and where to put glue. It should look like a stitch.

7. As you weave it and twist it, keep in mind to pull it straight up and let the tubes be tight enough so it doesn’t come out at all.

8. In case you are tired with the process, take a break and use a clip to hold things in place otherwise you will have to go through the entire process again.

9. In the corners, do twist extra before you go around the other corner. Keep repeating this twist.

10. As you keep doing this, you will realise how easy it has become and it is flexible now that you have an idea about it.

11. Continue adding rows until you have had the desired height you want.

12. After sometime, cut the ends off the hanging out strips and stick them to the baskets sides. If you want, you can place a cloth piece on the cardboard inside so it looks presentable.

13. Finish off the process with polyurethane spray so that it protects the newspapers and stiffens it well. If the basket is spoilt, do not worry. Try again or else buy it from outside.

These strong baskets are useful when you send hampers by post.

How to make a Christmas hamper

A luxurious Christmas hamper can be something you’d have to put too much thought into. But nowadays, you can make your hamper look luxurious with little things. You just have to put a little head into it and it is ready to be gifted. Here are some guidelines you could follow to get the right kind of gift basket this Christmas.
