1. Tiramisu: – Tiramisu was founded in the 1960s at an Italian restaurant in Treviso. This dessert contains of coffee and alcohol both. People think that it is easy to perfect the tiramisu, but once you taste the original one made in Italy, you will forget all the ones you ever had. Mixed with rich cream, chocolates, coffee, mascarpone and so much more, this delicious cake is worth it. If you are a coffee lover, you will enjoy eating this dessert.

2. Stollen Biscotti: – It kind of looks like a cake, but this dessert is different. Filled with the richness of dried fruits, spices, nuts and few other heavenly ingredients, this is a treat for dinners in Italy. You can have this during the tea or coffee time too.

3. Italian rum cake: – The Italian rum cake is quite popular and is found at many countries. You can find many boxed cake mixes of this recipe which is easy to make. A Cake Walk through History

Earlier it was known as a modification of bread. Now, cake has come a long way. Numerous recipes and flavours, this dessert is definitely a favourite for all across the world.

The Etymology

The word Cake has a Viking origin. Those who are keen to know about cake delivery online must know the fact that the word cake originally comes from the word Kaka.

In ancient Rome, breads were made of honey and milk to make it soft. Later, it was enriched with egg and sugar and was given the name of cake.

Cheese cake is an invention of Greece which was made of goat milk then.

The Past Glory

Many years ago, Celtic people used to celebrate a festival called Beltane Festival. They used to light a bonfire on a hilltop and rolled down round shaped cakes from the top of the hill. If the cake does not break it will bring good fortune; that is what they believed.

India’s Cake Journey

During 19th century, a person from Thalassery went to Burma (now Myanmar) to learn biscuit making. Years later, when he came back to his home town, he put up a biscuit factory in his hometown. It used to serve almost 40 different varieties of biscuits, buns and breads. After 3 years, a British named Mr. Brown asked the owner of the biscuit factory to make a Christmas cake for him.

Previously cakes were baked mainly in the bakeries of Kerala. Now it is made all over the country. In the year 2012, the 129th year of anniversary of cakes was celebrated in India.
